Root Knot Disease of Pomegranate
Hatamabadi-Farahani M. 2019. Root knot disease of pomegranate. Plant Pathology Science 8(1):38-49. DOI:10.2982/PPS.8.1.38. Pomegranate is an important fruit crop which is attacked by several pests and pathogens. Diseases caused by nematodes are of economic importance. The root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) causing considerable yield losses in pomegranate. Root knot nematodes are seden...
متن کاملSecondary spread of Heterobasidion annosum in white fir root-disease centers
Tree mortality caused by Heterobasidion annosum Fr. (Bref.) in white fir (Abies concolor (Gord. & Glend.) Lindl.) often appears in clusters; symptoms in the infected trees include sapwood and heartwood decay in tree boles and roots. Although the pathogen can spread from tree to tree through root contacts, it is often confined to the initially infected trees or stumps. We devised a field inocula...
متن کاملThe annual incapacitation rate of commercial pilots.
INTRODUCTION Scant data are available on the annual incapacitation rate of aircrew. This study analyzes all incapacitations occurring among UK commercial pilots, in flight and off duty, in 2004 to derive a baseline minimum annual incapacitation rate for the UK commercial pilot population. METHOD The study cohort was all professional pilots holding a valid UK/JAR (Joint Aviation Requirements) ...
متن کاملInfluence of Slope on Fire Spread Rate
75 Abstract—Data demonstrate the effect of slope on heading and backing fires burning through woody fuels. The data indicate that the upper limit of heading fire rate of spread is defined by the rate of spread up a vertical fuel array, and the lower limit is defined by the rate of spread of a backing fire burning downslope. The minimum spread rate is found to occur at nominally –16 degrees slope.
متن کاملNosocomial spread of viral disease.
Viruses are important causes of nosocomial infection, but the fact that hospital outbreaks often result from introduction(s) from community-based epidemics, together with the need to initiate specific laboratory testing, means that there are usually insufficient data to allow the monitoring of trends in incidences. The most important defenses against nosocomial transmission of viruses are detai...
